Semakin kita sering membaca semakin pula banyak Vocabulary atau kosakata yang akan kita dapatkan, diberikut ini yaitu bacaan teks bergenre Narrative yang cukup terkenal dan sekaligus artinya pada bab bawahnya.
the ant and grasshopper
In a field one summer’s day a grasshopper was hopping about, chirping and singing to its heart’s content. An ant passed by, bearing along with great toil an ear of corn he was taking to the nest. “Why not come and chat with me,” said the grasshopper, “instead of toiling and moiling in that way?” “I am helping to lay up food for the winter,” said the ant, “and recommend you to do the same.” “Why bother about winter?” said the grasshopper; we have got plenty of food at present.” The Ant went on its way and continued its toil.
When the winter came the grasshopper found itself dying of hunger while it saw the ants distributing, every day, corn and grain from the stores they had collected in the summer.

Di sebuah ladang pada demam isu gerah sebuntut belalang sedang berjalan jalan( melompat), menggerutu dan menyanyi sesuka hati. Sebuntut tiruant lewat, sambil membawa sebutir jagung ke dalam masukangnya.
“Why not come and chat with me,” said the grasshopper, “instead of toiling and moiling in that way?”
“ mengapa tidak hadir dan ngobrol dengan aku,” kata belalang, “ malahan bekerja sekeras itu?
"I am helping to lay up food for the winter,” said the ant, “and recommend you to do the same.”
“ saya sedang memmenolong mengumpulkan masakan untuk demam isu dingin,” kata si Semut, “ dan menyaranka engkau untuk melakuka hal yang sama”
“Why bother about winter?” said the grasshopper; we have got plenty of food at present.” The Ant went on its way and continued its toil.
“ mengapa harus mencemaskan demam isu dingin?” kata si Belalang; kami memiliki banyak masakan kini ini.” Si Semut melanjutkan perkerjaannya.

Ketika demam isu hambar hadir, si Belalang mencicipi kelaparan higga meninggal, sementara beliau melihat segerombolan tiruant membagikan, sediap harinya, jagung dan biji – bijian dari gudang yang sudah mereka beliau kumpulkan di demam isu gerah.
Pesan moral/ moral value dari dongeng “ the ant and Grasshopper” yaitu kita harus mempersiapkan segala sesuatu dengan matang, kita tidakboleh terlena dengan kelebihan kita, kerja keras akan menyelamatkan kita”
