The Donkey and the Cotton
There once lived a salt merchant. He had a donkey for his assistance. Every morning, he would load a sack of salt on the donkey and go to the nearby town to sell it. On the way, they had to walk across a pond.
Pada jaman lampau hiduplah seorang pedagang garam. Dia memiliki keledai sebagai asistennya. Setiap hari, ia akan menaikkan satu karung garam pada keledai dan pergi ke kota untuk menjualnya. Di perjalan, si Penjual dan Keleday menyeberangi danau.
One day, while crossing the pond, the donkey thought,"Ooh! This load is so heavy that I become exhausted very soon. I wish I could get some of this load taken off my back." Just then the donkey tripped and fell into the water.

The merchant did his best to help the donkey to get up and they carried on their journey.
Beruntungnya, si Keledai tidak mencicipi sakit. Akan tetapi kantong yang ada di punggung keledai jatuh ke dalam air. Si Keledai dan Garam menjadi basah. Air di garam tersebut menjadi bercampur dan membuat muatan garam menjadi lebih enteng. Si Keledai merasa sangat bahagia terkena pengurangan berat muatan garam yang ada di punggungnya. Si Pedangan melaksanakan yang terbaik untuk memmenolong keledai bangkit dan melanjutkan perjalanan.
From that day, it became a regular practice for the donkey to slip and fall in the pond whenever they crossed the pond to the market. This would dissolve some salt in the sack thus reducing the weight and relieving the donkey of some load. The merchant was not aware of the donkey’s cunningness. This continued for a few days.
Semenjak hari itu, insiden jatuhnya keledai di air menjadi kebiasaan bagi si Keledai untuk terpeleset dan terjatuh diair kapanpn di menyeberangi danau menuju ke pasar. Ini akan membuat garam mencair dan membuat garam dipunggunnya berkurang beratnya dan mengurangi berat muatan. Si pedagang tidak tahu apa kelicikannya. Ini terjadi berlanjut selama beberapa hari.

Pagi diberikutnya, daripada mengisi muatan dengan sekantong garam. Pedangan tersebut mengisi kantong dengan kapas . ibarat biasanya ia memutuskan untuk menuju ke pasar dengan melewati danau biasanya. Ketika menyeberangi danau biasanya, si Keledai tersebut ibarat biasa, terpeleset dan terjatu kedalam danau, mengharapkan bahwa setelah itu muatannya akan semakin enteng . ibarat biasa muatan dan Keledai tersebut menjadi basah. Akan tetapi kali ini, saat ia terbangun muatan pada punggungnya menjadi semakin berat. “ ohh muatan ini nampaknya semakin berat saja,” piker si Keledai. Si Keledai tersebut terkejut pada apa yang terjadi berkebalikan dengan yang biasanya.
